Learn to ride with confidence!
rabbittransit‘s Travel Training Program is a free service that helps individuals learn how to safely and independently use the fixed route bus system. Travel Training is ideal for anyone who is new to public transportation, unfamiliar with bus routes, or interested in gaining greater independence when traveling.
Who Can Participate?
Travel Training is available to:
• Seniors
• Individuals with disabilities
• Students transitioning to independent travel
• Individuals receiving support from caregivers, case managers, or service providers
• Anyone interested in learning how to use rabbittransit fixed route services
How Do I Request Travel Training?
Travel Training may be requested by an individual, family member, caregiver, case manager, residential facility, or community organization by emailing:
Travel Training sessions are typically scheduled on the first Thursday of each month based on trainer availability and participant needs.

Before Your Training
A Travel Trainer will contact you to discuss your travel goals, confirm your itinerary, review any accommodations or support needs, and provide the date, time, and meeting location for your training session.
What to Expect on the Day of Training
The Travel Trainer will meet you and your escort (if applicable) at a designated bus stop or another pre-arranged location. During the training session, you will practice:
• Finding the correct bus stop
• Identifying the correct bus
• Boarding and riding the bus
• Traveling to and from your destination
• Understanding schedules and route information
Training is interactive and designed to build confidence through real-world experience.
Escorts
Participants are encouraged to bring an escort when possible. Escorts may include family members, caregivers, case managers, residential staff, or other support persons. Escorts help reinforce the skills learned during training and provide ongoing support after the session.
Cost
Travel Training is free of charge. Participants and their escorts ride free while participating in the Travel Training program.
