York, PA rabbittransit plans to implement significant changes to three of its routes beginning Sunday, November 25. This effort is part of a larger initiative to improve efficiencies system wide. Part of the process involves reaching out to the community for public comment regarding the service enhancements. Detailed schedule and route changes will be displayed on vehicles, the downtown Transfer Center and on rabbittransit’s website (www.rabbittransit.org) beginning the week of October 29. The public comment period will last through Friday, November 16. Written comments can be directed to 1230 Roosevelt Avenue, York, PA 17404; info@rabbittransit.org; or comment forms are available at the rabbittransit Transfer Center at the corner of Pershing Avenue and King Street.
This past year, rabbittransit engaged a consultant to develop a Transit Development Plan. The objective was to review the productivity of all existing routes and provide suggestions on how to increase system efficiencies. Phase one includes addressing the challenges currently facing routes 1, 12 and 14. Ongoing developments of rabbittransit’s service enhancement plan can be monitored here.
