FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
rabbittransit to Eliminate Planned Fare Increase

York, PA rabbittransit's Board of Directors announced the elimination of a fare increase planned for July 1, 2009. The transit authority was slated to increase fares across all fixed route services at the start of the new fiscal year. Base boarding fares on the fixed route service would have climbed from $1.40 to $1.45 and from $3.50 to $3.75 on the commuter express service between York and Harrisburg.
“Given the current economic climate and the successful negotiation of a new fuel contract, the board felt it necessary to forgo the impending fare increase,” commented rabbittransit Executive Director Richard Farr. The last fixed route fare increase happened on July 1, 2008. For more information about rabbittransit and its services, please visit www.rabbittransit.org.
