FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Commerce Bank to Hop on the Bus in York August 17
SHOWS SUPPORT FOR rabbittransit BY HOLDING "BANK ON BUSES DAY"

Harrisburg, PA – Commerce Bank/Harrisburg, NA, “America’s Most Convenient Bank,” is hopping on the bus — a rabbittransit bus, that is.

Representatives of Commerce Bank will show support for York County’s public transportation system by holding “Banking on Buses Day” on Thursday, Aug. 17.

“Thousands of people in York are banking on buses each day to get them where they need to go,” said Commerce Bank Regional Vice President Harry Zimmerman. “Commerce is proud to show our support, particularly in light of ongoing financial challenges experienced by public transit.”

On “Banking on Buses Day,” all rabbittransit riders will have an opportunity to enter to win a $50 Commerce Visa Gift Card. Additionally, riders on rabbittransit's Route 1 and the new rabbitEXPRESS service to Harrisburg will receive a friendly greeting from a Commerce Team Member and giveaways.

“We are delighted to welcome Commerce Bank on board,” said rabbittransit Executive Director Richard Farr. “We continue to contend with funding shortfalls and are always grateful for the business community’s support. Commerce is well known for contributing to the quality of life in York County and we appreciate the bank’s enthusiasm for public transit.”

Last year, rabbittransit announced Commerce Bank as the first bus sponsor of its “Sponsor a Rabbit Bus” program. The program solicits contributions from the private sector in return for logo placement on the rear of one of rabbittransit's fixed route buses, under the phrase “This bus sponsored by…” Commerce recently renewed its sponsorship for a second year.

Commerce Bank has six convenient locations in York County: Mount Zion Road store and Prospect Street store in Springettsbury Township; Red Lion store in Windsor Township; Route 30 store in Manchester Township; Queen Street store in York Township; and York Crossing store in West Manchester Township.

rabbittransit provides a variety of transportation services to individuals who need or want them. Nearly 6,000 people depend on rabbittransit each day to get to work, medical facilities, school and other life-sustaining activities.

As rabbittransit grows and serves a greater number of York County residents, it is facing governmental funding that is either shrinking or falling below the rate of inflation. For many residents, rabbittransit is their only means of transportation. Without rabbittransit, thousands of residents would be unable to get to work, shopping, healthcare and school because they have no other transportation alternative.

Commerce Bank/Harrisburg, “America’s Most Convenient Bank,” is a financial services retailer that has produced continuous strong growth since its first office opened in 1985. Headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, the sole subsidiary of Pennsylvania Commerce Bancorp (NASDAQ: COBH) has doubled its number of stores in recent years, growing a network of 28 convenient locations in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon and York counties.

Commerce’s hallmark products and services include seven-day banking, free personal checking, free instant-issue ATM/Visa check card, free interactive Penny Arcade coin-counting machines, free online banking and 24/7 bank-by-phone. In addition to retail banking, Commerce offers a diverse portfolio of commercial banking services including term loans, commercial mortgages, commercial leasing and lines of credit, and cash management services.

Commerce currently has nearly $1.8 billion in assets and, in the second quarter of 2006, achieved a 17 percent increase in core deposits, a 24 percent increase in net loans and total asset growth of 23 percent. For more information about Commerce, visit the bank’s web site at commercepc.com.
