VANPOOL INFORMATION

Commuter Services of PennsylvaniaCommuting can be a real hassle. Racing out the door in the morning. Fighting with traffic. Relying on the radio for companionship. Paying sky-high prices for gas. And when you finally get to work, you feel the effects of a stressful, unproductive and costly commute.

Vanpooling with us is a great, cost effective alternative for your daily commute. You can enjoy the convenience of sharing a ride to work with others together in a friendly environment.

You'll arrive at work safe, on time and relaxed. But the benefits don't stop there. By vanpooling you can begin to use your commute time productively to catch up on your work, your sleep or the latest best seller.

4. EMERGENCY RIDE HOME PROGRAM

We understand that customers may have concerns about not having a car available in case of an emergency. That is why we offer the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program through Commuter Services of Pennsylvania. Commuter Services of Pennsylvania provides registered participants who use the vanpools with a reliable emergency ride home should an unforeseen circumstance arise causing the passenger to leave work early or stay late.

Participants in the Emergency Ride Home Program may obtain a ride up to 6 times a year.

How to Register:

  1. Read through the Program and Policy information: PDF

  2. Completely fill out the:

    Or sign up online at: pacommuterservices.com

  3. Return the ERH application to Commuter Services by mail to: 2951 Whiteford Road Suite 210, York, PA 17402 or Fax: 717-718-0020.

  4. After your registration has been processed by Commuter Services of Pennsylvania, an information packet will be mailed to you. In the packet will be an official ERH Fare Reimbursement Form. You must use this form for reimbursement. Copies of the form will not be accepted.

Procedure for Use:

Passengers must pre-register for the program.

NOTE:Commuter Services of Pennsylvania's ERH is a service reimbursement program. You will be required to pay the taxi fare and Commuter Services of Pennsylvania will reimburse you.

  1. When the need for service arises, call the cab company of your choice for taxi service. Please do not call rabbittransit for service reservations. Cab company numbers can be found in the yellow pages of your local telephone book.

  2. After your ERH trip has been completed, you will need to fill out the original ERH Fare Reimbursement Form, fully and completely, and return it to Commuter Services of Pennsylvania with a copy of your taxi receipt within five (5) business days of trip.

  3. Commuter Services of Pennsylvania will process your reimbursement within 15 days of receipt of the properly completed ERH Reimbursement Form.Commuter Services of Pennsylvania will provide you with a new ERH Reimbursement Form with your reimbursement check.

ELIGIBILITY

Any passenger who commutes to work and uses the rabbitEXPRESS service at least twice a week and who enrolls in the program is eligible for the Emergency Ride Home benefit. To enroll, call 1-866-579-RIDE or visit www.pacommuterservices.com/application-form.php

REGISTRATION

Passengers must pre-register with Commuter Services via fax, mail-in form, or online submission.

PROGRAM USE

The program is limited to those who traveled using rabbitEXPRESS, but cannot travel home by their usual means due to any of the following circumstances:

Illness or severe crisis of the participant or of a family member ( Immediate family is husband, wife, child, brother, sister or parent.)

If you have a non-routine work demand that:

  • could not have been anticipated before departure for work that day;

  • is required by a supervisor;

  • causes you to work overtime so that you cannot commute by rabbitEXPRESS.

Transportation systems delays will be reimbursed if there is not another alternative available later.

Unauthorized use or abuse of the program may result in loss of privileges. If you have any questions regarding qualified trips, please contact Commuter Services at 1-866-579-RIDE.

Participants in the Emergency Ride Home Program may obtain a ride up to six times per calendar year, per commuter.

PROCEDURE FOR TAKING ERH TRIPS

Passengers must pre-register for the program.

NOTE: rabbittransit and Commuter Services’ ERH is a service reimbursement program. You will be required to pay the taxi fare or locate an alternative ride and Commuter Services will reimburse your taxi fare or mileage for the trip based on the federal mileage reimbursement rate.

  1. When the need to take an ERH trip arises, call the cab company of your choice for taxi service or find alternative means for transportation (such as with a coworker). Please do not call rabbittransit or Commuter Services for service reservations. Cab company numbers can be found in the yellow pages of your local telephone book or online. You are responsible for finding your mode of transportation for the ERH trip.

  2. After your ERH trip has been completed, you will need to fill out the ERH Fare Reimbursement Form, fully and completely, and return it to Commuter Services by fax or mail with a copy of your taxi receipt (if applicable) within thirty (30) days following any trip. This form can be found online at: www.pacommuterservices.com/images/Emergency-Ride-Home-application.pdf

  3. Commuter Services will process your reimbursement within 45 days of receipt of the properly completed ERH Reimbursement Form. Commuter Services may contact the commuter to verify information and eligibility and will provide you with a new ERH Reimbursement Form with your reimbursement check.
